Sinai Chicago Announces Iliana A. Mora As New Chife Operating Officer

In her new role, Mora will lead Sinai Chicago’s systemwide day-to-day operations, overseeing all hospital and ambulatory care, clinical and administrative functions, quality and patient experience, population health and managed care and service line optimization and growth.

“We’re excited to bring Iliana to Sinai at this transformational moment in our history,” said Dr.  Ngozi Ezike, President and CEO. “She brings a proven track record of driving operational change and improvement, as well as developing close partnerships with caregivers, government, donors and the community, all with a focus on ensuring Sinai’s ability to fulfill our mission to serving the needs of the communities of the West and South sides.”

Previously, Mora was the Chief Administrative Officer for Service Lines, as well as the Chief Operating Officer for Ambulatory Services for Cook County Health System. While at Cook County Health, Mora launched The Change Institute in the areas of cardiology, neurosciences and cancer and led transformational initiatives that markedly improved operational efficiencies, quality and patient and employee engagement. Mora also led major initiatives including the launch and operation of COVID-19 Mass Vaccination Centers across Cook County. Prior to that, she spent 14 years at Erie Family Health in Chicago, initially as the Manager of Community Relations and Planning and finally as Chief Operating Officer.

Mora is known for her compassionate leadership, operational prowess and relentless pursuit to improve the healthcare safety net for socio-economically disadvantaged communities.

“Sinai Chicago is truly a pillar in the communities it serves and I am thrilled for the opportunity to bring my experience and skills here in service of Sinai’s mission,” said Mora. “I look forward to working with Dr. Ezike and the rest of the leadership team to transform and grow Sinai, ensuring financial stability and the ability to provide quality, culturally sensitive care that is accessible and inclusive for everyone, no matter who they are, where they come from or their ability to pay.”

Mora graduated Magna Cum Laude from The George Washington University and received her Master of Urban Planning and Policy from the University of Illinois, as well as a certificate from the Executive Health Care Program at the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
